DARFUR
Taken during a trip to the city of Nyala (population: 2.8m) in Darfur, Sudan. The gender-based violence NGO I was co-directing at the time provided training and educational resources for Darfuri leaders and community members regarding domestic violence prevention. I conducted field research and documented every day life in Darfur as a reference for a 3D graphic booklet and poster series I was developing. The materials were estimated to have reached 500,000, with the poster series posted in public fora throughout Nyala, and the graphic booklet disseminated to leaders of camps for internally displaced people.
